UPDATE: Hip-hop artist Common, a Chicago native, and American rock band Ted Leo and the Pharmacists are in negotiations to perform at Northwestern for Dillo Day 2008, the Center for Student Involvement confirmed today.
Mayfest, the group that organizes Dillo Day, has sent a contract to Common and is waiting to receive it to finalize the May 31 appearance. They are "hoping to receive it some time this week," said Judith Cooper, assistant director for the Center for Student Involvement.
Ted Leo and the Pharmacists is in talks with NU Dillo Day coordinators. While neither side has signed contracts, the performance is a possibility, Cooper said.
The band's booking agent could not confirm any appearance yet.

Wow, Common and Ted Leo. What happened to MIA? I guess she would've upstaged the headliner...
